Teach! Inspire Young Minds.
This poster series includes versions of each poster which are aimed at one of five disciplines – chemistry, math, physics, CS, or science. These can be used as is or modified to include your branding and contact information. All messaging and images have been extensively tested with students and faculty.
Audience/setting: Students in introductory math and science courses.
Time: 15 minutes to print and post
Synopsis: This poster series is in a modifiable PowerPoint format that can be printed (large poster format or single page flyer format) and placed in public areas, including classrooms, hallways, and offices frequented by students. The series is designed so that all four can be posted together if desired.
Implementation
If interested, replace any of the contact information and/or drop in new imagery to make it relevant to your specific discipline or context, including the following:

Print from 8 1/2″ x 11″ up to 37″ x 48″ sizes. To maximize student exposure, place this poster in multiple locales, and provide copies to colleagues and others who might advise students on career decisions. The series is designed so that all four can be posted together, if desired.
Make sure to register as a GFO Champion and to log your GFO related activities!
Good to know
- Pin a number of Data Handouts or “Thinking about Teaching” brochures next to the poster for students to take home.
- Explicitly point out the poster during discussions about career options.
- Research on posters indicates that it most effective if posters are placed in places where people spend time waiting such as waiting rooms or hallways just outside of classrooms.
